Bobby Jindal Sounds Like 30 Rock's Kenneth The Page!

Once we'd seen this, we thought just how strangely Bobby Jindal sounded like Kenneth the page from NBC's 30 Rock.

Then we stumbled on this!

So does everyone else!

Tell The Truthiness Says ; Even his uneasy walk up to the camera looks like Kenneth!

PS - For the rest of the year Jindal has to wear an NBC page uniform, lets start a Facebook petition!

Lets Release Those Big Money Balls

At long last, despite an awful lot of hand wringing/revisionist history/predictions of doom (delete as mood takes you) by nearly every member of the GOP against the plan, the Stimulus Bill was signed into law on Tuesday.

Almost straight away, a bridge building infrastructure project (you can't have an economy without bridges, roads and railways to transport those consumables, GOP take note!) began.

Tell The Truthiness Says ; Perhaps this will quieten down those members of congress who were opposed to the idea of the bill. The reason? They objected to the spending part of it. That's like buying a food mixer and objecting to the mushing up of the food it causes. That's the point!

Economics Like It's 2000 - No Wealth Since Century Started

Paul Krugman's article from the New York Times raises several interesting points.

The biggest of which is that the US is no more financially better off than it was in 2000. Of course, some of this is to do with the problems created and caused by the banking industry and the lack of regulation for that part of the economy, but there's something else. People are saving less now compared with the 1980's when savings were at nine percent of income.

Telling The Truthiness Says ; Changing the attitude of the banks towards regulation and oversight is achievable, with conditions set before you give them bailout money, or take a stake in them. But trying to change the attitude of banking customers and the public's towards savings and the importance of it in the money supply might be something we don't see the real fruit of for decades to come. Unfortunately, the banking system and the economy won't wait that long.

Schumer Predicts Stimulus To Pass By End Of The Week

The Senator from New York, Chuck Schumer is predicting that the Stimulus Bill will pass by the end of this week, despite the opposition foot dragging by the republicans.

Telling The Truthiness Says ; The reason Mr Schumer is optimistic? The results of the bill not going through are too big to contemplate and no-one wants to be found responsible for a failure of that magnitude. But the question is, how much damage has been done by this delay in the House? We may never know.

GOP Can't Grasp That Stimulus Involves Spending Money, Really!

The stuttering progress of the stimulus package is more frustrating when you realise that many republicans don't understand what it means ;

Telling The Truthiness Says ; Yes, a stimulus package involves spending money to get the ball rolling so other people will start spending as well! Look up the words in the dictionary GOP!
