Half & Half ; What's Good Enough For Florida Is Good Enough For Michigan

Sources once again are saying that a deal is close on seating the Michigan delegates in pretty much the same way as the Florida delegates.

The day-long DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee meeting is to seat the Michigan delegates, giving them each half a vote, just like the Florida solution. No word yet though on how the delegates are going to be awarded between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Tell The Truthiness ; In the future, will today's goings on be referred to as The Florida Solution/The Michigan Solution? Guess it depends on how it's received by party members, democrats and the voters.

BREAKING NEWS GUESS? ; Michigan To Take All Day?

The DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee's decision on Michigan, compared to the decision just made on Florida, is a whole other kettle of fish.

The idea of splitting the delegation in half between Clinton and Obama has been rejected by the Clinton camp. To make matters more confused, Senator Carl Levin is due to speak at the meeting on behalf of Michigan and demand the seating all the delegates and full votes for them.

Tell The Truthiness ; Florida, piece of cake. Michigan, this could take all night. Should we ring for a pizza?

BREAKING NEWS ; Florida Delegates To Be Seated At Half A Vote Each

Sources inside the discussions on what to do about the Florida and Michigan delegates have said that an agreement has been reached for the Sunshine State.

Floridian delegates will be seated at the Denver Convention, with half a vote each, this gives Hillary Clinton a gain of twelve delegates.

There is no mention of the superdelegates, or yet, on what the plan is for Michigan.

Tell The Truthiness ; We'll update you as it happens.

MSNBC Gets It From The Left & The Right

Here's an interesting report on MSNBC being accused of bias in coverage of the race for the white house and the bush administration.

It's interesting to point out that for the last few years Keith Olbermann has defended himself from being called liberal by saying that when he covered the Monica Lewinsky story he wasn't accused of being right wing.

Here's a Bill Moyers interview, in three parts, with Keith Olbermann. The second part begins with Keith talking about that moment in the Bill Clinton presidency.

Part 1 ;

Part 2 ;

Part 3 ;

Tell The Truthiness ; When things are skewed to one side, you have to create a rebalance by moving across to the other side of the spectrum. That's what's happening in US media and politics right now. It's a natural rebalance.

Holding Them To Account 13 ; Bush Whacked On Iraq By Former Press Secretary

Excerpts from former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's book have been published and they slam the President's case for war with Iraq. He talks about Bush using propaganda to push the case for war and the media going easy on the administration in its justification for the invasion.

Tell The Truthiness ; Well done Scott McClellan on revealing the truth from someone who was on the inside.

The Big 3 Stand Up To The Big C (And Other Things)

All three US networks are going to come together for a one hour, commercial-free fundraiser on 5th of September.

Here's the three anchors on the NBC Today Show.

We would have a video here of them appearing on the CBS Early Show, but there's a problem with the embedded code, so click here to go to it on their page.

Saunter To The White House 74 ; 7 Days Left, What's In Store?

Just seven days is the duration left before the primary season ends for the Democrats.

June 3rd is the date that Howard Dean said he wanted to see the nomination contest finish.

Tell The Truthiness ; Over a year has been a long contest, but a week is a long time in politics and who knows just what these next seven days will reveal... if only Hillary had a flux capacitor and a DeLorean.

Saunter To The White House 73 ; Obama Plans The Endgame With Superdelegates

With the primaries entering the last three contests, Barack Obama is lining up endorsements from superdelegates from those states to bring the nomination to a close.

Tell The Truthiness ; What is Hillary Clinton going to do and how is she going to do it? A dignified speech or a last grasp at power?

Silverstein, Merrill Lynch & The Murky Goings On At Ground Zero

The inability to get anything built on the World Trade Center site in New York has become the story of the city. Now, the leaseholder, Larry Silverstein is planning to delay, yet again, the work.

He is hoping to get Merrill Lynch as a tenant in the new tower three.

Tell The Truthiness ; Yet another delay? Just get something on the site and quickly.

Special Comment On Clinton's RFK Remarks

Here is Keith Olbermann's Special Comment from last week about Hillary Clinton's RFK remarks.

Saunter To The White House 72 ; Obama 'Too Many Supporters' To Be Proccessed

The Federal Election Commission is struggling to cope with the number of supporters that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that have donated money to the campaigns.

A sense of how big and different the Obama campaign is and has been was shown when their fundraising report wasn't able to be processed by the 'off-the-shelf' applications such as Microsoft Excel.

Tell The Truthiness ; An amazing case where the current governments functions and methods of operation are being made outdated by the future government. We are seeing history in the making.

Saunter To The White House 71 ; Clinton's Assassination Reference, The End For Her?

Hillary Clinton has got herself into a bottomless pit by invoking the notion that 'anything can happen' including the assassination of a candidate the race for nomination.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama's campaign and the certainty of his nomination has become clearer with him gaining five superdelegates, while Hillary Clinton lost one.

Tell The Truthiness ; When is someone in the Hillary Clinton camp going to step-up and tell her it's over?

Saunter To The White House 70 ; 65 Is The Magic Number

65 delegates is the number that Barack Obama needs to reach the 2,026 to get the democratic nomination for President after last night's primaries.

Yes Clinton won Kentucky, as everyone expected, but the number of delegates she got, once again for her, are practically pointless.

Tell The Truthiness ; 65 delegates, that's all it takes and Puerto Rico's next.

Senator Ted Kennedy Has Malignant Brain Tumour

Such terrible news for a man who is the nearest person US politics has to a founding father.

Here he is in fine form in January with the Kennedy's Obama endorsement and that almost prophetic phrase, "I feel CHANGE in the air, what about you?!"

We are thinking of you Ted.

Saunter To The White House 69 ; Teetering On The Brink Of Certainty

Today, it's predicted that Barack Obama will get a majority of pledged delegates in this long race to the democratic nomination.

Oregon is expected to go heavily for Obama, while Kentucky goes for Clinton. But the number count for Obama will not yet hit the nomination number.

Tell The Truthiness ; How close will Obama get to the number and how much more a hint does Clinton need? Perhaps 80,000 hints?

War On Reality Part 91 ; Bush Compares Obama To Nazi Appeasers

Yes, you read it right. Despite the fact President Bush refused to get drawn into the race to find his replacement, he changed that today when talking about his favourite subject, terrorism and how to deal with it.

Tell The Truthiness ; After recent revelations about the President's opinion of playing golf and how that relates to war in a distant country, executed by him, this news should be dismissed as the chatter of an irrelevant man.

The post-Bush era has already arrived.
